 Compatability - Belkin Vs Windows

Hi !

I'm trying to help my parents set up a wireless network and am having trouble !!

I have a Belkin G Wirless Adapter (Part # F5D7050) connected to my mother's PC but when trying to connect to the internet, belkins utilitiy seems to 'fight' with windows to monitor the connection causing drop offs and conflicts.

I've tried disabling the setting on the Belkin utility but it won't save and everytime the PC is rebooted - it forgets that it was disabled !! However the utility doesn't pickup the signal from the modem, whereas the windows utility does - go figure !

I've tried uninstalling, but that uninstalls the device as well ? Any suggestions ?

Go into Services and disable the Wireless Zero Config service - this will stop Windows trying to take control.

Alternative is to uninstall the Belkin utility.
